The basics
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies let a site remember something between pages or visits, such as a login or a setting. Similar technologies, such as local storage, do the same job and are covered by this page too.
Some cookies are strictly necessary for a site to work. Others measure visits or show advertising. The law in the UK (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, alongside UK GDPR) lets a site set strictly necessary cookies without asking, and requires your consent for the rest.
This website
What we set ourselves
Robin Skylights Nottingham ("Robin Skylights", "we") runs this site on WordPress. For an ordinary visitor, the site sets no cookies of its own for tracking you. The only cookies WordPress sets are the essential ones that keep an administrator logged in to the back end of the site, and these are not set for people simply reading the pages.
We do not currently use analytics cookies or advertising cookies. If we add either, we will update this page first and ask for your consent before they are set, with a clear way to say no.
Other companies
Cookies from third parties you may meet
Some features on the site are provided by other companies. If you use them, those companies may set their own cookies or read information from your device. We do not control that, so each one is listed here with what to expect.
- The enquiry form. The form is run by our customer relationship management (CRM) provider and appears inside a frame on the page. The provider may set cookies needed to load the form, protect it from spam and submit it. They are set by the provider, under its own policy.
- WhatsApp. The WhatsApp links on the site are ordinary links. Nothing from WhatsApp loads until you choose to open one. Once you do, you are on WhatsApp's service, and its terms and cookie rules apply.
- OpenStreetMap. The map on the contact page uses map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Loading tiles sends your IP address to the tile server, as any web request does, but the tiles set no tracking cookies.
For what happens to personal data you send us through any of these routes, see our privacy policy.
Your choices
How to control cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you see, block and delete cookies. The menus differ, but you will usually find the controls under Settings, then Privacy or Privacy and security. From there you can:
- block all cookies, or only those from third parties;
- delete cookies already stored on your device;
- ask the browser to clear cookies each time you close it;
- allow cookies only for sites you name.
Blocking every cookie can stop some sites working properly. On this site, blocking third-party cookies may stop the enquiry form from loading or sending. If that happens, we are reachable by phone on 0115 775 0605, by WhatsApp, 07880 284133, or by email instead.
Your phone or tablet will have its own controls in its browser settings. Many browsers also offer a private window, which discards cookies when it closes.
Updates
Changes to this policy
We will change this page if the cookies on the site change, for example when we add a new tool or swap one of the providers above. The version on this page is always the current one. It was last updated in October 2026.
